Bone Density Testing
A bone mineral density (BMD) is used to estimate the mineral content of the bone. We use it to estimate your risk of bone fracture and to monitor treatment.
Continuous Glucose Monitor
A continuous glucose monitor (CGM) is a diagnostic tool that can be ordered by your doctor to obtain a better picture of your glucose control through the week. The monitor is a small and discreet device that measures glucose levels all day and night—revealing hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, and patterns that may otherwise be missed with a finger stick and A1C testing alone.
We can perform a number of routine laboratory tests in the office. Contact our office for an appointment.
Thyroid Fine Needle Biopsies
With a fine needle biopsy, the doctor inserts a very tiny needle into the thyroid nodule and removes fluid and tissue. A fine needle biopsy is less invasive than a core needle biopsy. It is only accurate for some types of nodules.
The procedure takes only 10 to 15 minutes. Pathology results are ready within 1 week.
Ultrasound exam of the thyroid gland is used to detect thyroid nodules or signs of abnormal enlargement of the thyroid and to guide biopsies of concerning nodules. (An ultrasound scan is a diagnostic technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image of the internal organs.)
